How we take reseller and distributor intelligence to new heights

Collecting Data

With our Data Collecting service we collect all of the sales- and inventory data from your Vendors at specific intervals of typically a week or a month. These are then broken down and combined into one simple format – specifically suited to your needs. This service also handles the notifications process of missing or lacking reports, that needs collecting or validating.

What usually happens when collecting data from resellers, is the Vendor handing out a general constructed report format, that’s to be filled out. A time-consuming task for the Reseller, who’s not adaptable to the changing formats. Less work for the Vendor but a vast load of work for the Reseller, leading to conflicts. Luckily for them, and you, we are specialized in accepting basically all formats, making it possible for all parts to report through us, in a way that’s suitable for them.

Importing Data

After collecting all the files, what often happens is that an employee collects all the data into one file, from where the data can be used for a report. Or maybe a BI tool is set to append the reports from a given week. 

But what happens when the format changes? The filetype is different? The reseller reported for the wrong customer? The distributor switched the sales and stocks column? The product number column is called date? An empty file was submitted? No file at all was received? And so on - the list of questions is long.

Thankfully, Appendo is built to prevent all of those questions and have perfected the process over more than ten years. Further, the import is quality ensured through a large number of controls, checks and format analysis. A dedicated account manager is in charge of the process and can always adapt the import to deviations to ensure correct import into the database.

Cleaning Data

In the process of Data Cleaning, we make sure that the identity of the client i.e. product numbers, area codes, country codes etc. are identical. Also, we secure the correct currency and interpolation of e.g. monthly or weekly reports. Back in the days, the distributor had to match the format of either client “X or “Y”. With our solution, the distributor is able to centralize this process in Appendo, where its only necessary to match each format once.

So, what happens if several distributors sell to the same clients, but these clients or not registered under the same title in every distributors system? Or, what if a reseller doesn’t use the correct product codes, only inhouse product codes?

In our Data Cleaning service, we make sure that the identity of the company, the customers, the products and all other data is correct and in line with each other. This saves time for all parts of the business, centralizes the process and prevents many possible validation errors.
